How to Install the 46-9911
- Open the fresh food door and look at the front top-right corner, just above the top shelf, for a narrow plastic door or grille. On some older units this housing is instead in the base grille at the bottom front of the refrigerator.
- Open the filter door. It either swings down on a hinge or pops open when you press the front face of the cartridge.
- Push the old cassette in about a quarter inch and release. The clip behind it lets go and the cartridge springs partway out. Pull it the rest of the way and discard it. A small amount of water may drip — have a towel ready.
- Check the orientation of the new filter. The label faces out and the arrow or notch on the housing indicates which way up it goes. It only seats one way.
