Sub-Zero 7012333 Undercounter Ice Maker Water Filter
Product Description
The Sub-Zero 7012333 is the genuine OEM water filter for Sub-Zero UC-15 series undercounter ice makers. Designed specifically for Sub-Zero's luxury undercounter ice makers, this filter ensures every batch of ice is clear, fresh, and free of chlorine taste, odor, sediment, and hard scale buildup.
Maintaining a clean filter in your Sub-Zero ice maker is one of the most important steps in keeping the unit running efficiently. A clogged or expired filter reduces water flow, strains the ice maker's internal components, and affects the clarity and taste of your ice. Replacing the filter on schedule keeps your ice maker performing at its best and protects your investment for years to come.
The filter uses an activated carbon block design with a push-in quarter-turn locking mechanism. When not locked correctly, water will not flow — ensuring the filter is always properly seated before use.

Installation Instructions
- Locate the Filter: The filter is located beneath the ice maker, accessible by lifting the front grille assembly. Pull out on the bottom edge of the grille and tilt it forward to access the filter housing
- Remove Old Filter: Twist the old filter a quarter-turn counterclockwise, then pull it straight down and discard. The water will shut off automatically when the filter is removed
- Transfer the Knob: Remove the reusable color-keyed knob from the end of the old filter and attach it to the new filter
- Install New Filter: Push the new filter firmly and straight up into the receiver, then turn clockwise until it locks into place. Important: The filter must be pushed firmly and locked correctly — if not locked, water will not flow
- Flush the System: Run water through the ice maker for 3-5 gallons before use to flush air and activate the carbon block
- Replace the Grille: Tilt the grille back into position and snap it closed
- Reset Filter Indicator: Reset the filter indicator light on the UC-15 control panel per your owner's manual

Frequently Asked Questions
Will this filter work in my Sub-Zero refrigerator?
No. The 7012333 is designed exclusively for Sub-Zero UC-15 undercounter ice makers. It will not fit any Sub-Zero full-size refrigerator. If you have a Sub-Zero refrigerator, you need the 4204490 filter (for most models) or the 4290510 filter (for PRO 48 series models) — both of which are completely different in shape and design.
What is the difference between 7012333 and 7042803?
They are the exact same filter. Sub-Zero updated the part number from 7012333 to 7042803. The filter itself is identical — same design, same filtration media, same compatibility. If your ice maker uses 7012333, either part number will give you the correct replacement filter.
Why does the water not flow after installing the filter?
This is the most common installation issue with the 7012333 filter. The filter must be pushed firmly and fully into the receiver before turning to lock. If the filter is not locked correctly, the internal valve remains closed and water will not flow. Remove the filter, reinsert it straight, push firmly upward, and turn clockwise until it stops. You should feel a definite stop when it is correctly locked.
Is this filter compatible with Manitowoc ice makers?
Yes. The 7012333 filter is also compatible with select Manitowoc commercial ice makers including the K00374, K00374001, AR-2800, and SM-50 models, which use the same filter housing design.
How do I know when to replace the filter?
Replace every 6 months as a standard schedule. Your UC-15 ice maker will also illuminate a red "REPLACE FILTER" indicator light on the control panel when it is time for a new filter. Additionally, replace the filter immediately after any extended shutdown, or if you notice cloudy ice, off-taste, or reduced water flow — any of these are signs the filter needs changing.
