LT800P Water Filter Replacement — LG & Kenmore 46-9490 (ADQ73613401 / ADQ73613402 / ADQ73613408 / ADQ75795104)
Check your part number first. LG uses five different filter cartridges — LT500P, LT600P, LT700P, LT800P and LT1000P — and they are not interchangeable. If the filter currently in your refrigerator is not marked LT800P, ADQ73613401, ADQ73613402, ADQ73613408 or ADQ75795104, this is not the right cartridge for you. Kenmore owners: the equivalent number is 46-9490 (also shown as 9490 or 469490).
Where this filter goes: Inside the fresh food compartment, upper right, behind a hinged cover. The LT800P is a horizontal slide-in cartridge — it does not twist and it does not push up from a base grille. If your filter twists a quarter turn, or sits in the base grille at the bottom of the fridge, you are looking at a different LG filter.

Product Description

This is a replacement LT800P water filter cartridge for LG French door and side-by-side refrigerators, and for the Kenmore models built on the same platform that use filter 46-9490. It drops straight into the factory housing — no adapters, no tools, no shutting off the water supply.

The activated carbon block media reduces chlorine taste and odour, so dispensed water and ice taste clean rather than like tap water. It also traps sediment, rust particles and general grit that build up in household plumbing and end up as cloudiness in the glass or specks in the ice.

Rated for 200 gallons or six months of normal household use, whichever comes first. Sold as a single cartridge, with 2, 3, 4 and 5 packs available from the quantity selector above — multi-packs bring the per-filter price down and cover you for a full year or more.

Kenmore Refrigerators (Filter 46-9490)

Kenmore refrigerators built on LG's platform use this cartridge under part number 46-9490 (also shown as 9490 or 469490). Check the number printed on the cartridge currently in your fridge, or on the inside of the filter cover, to confirm before ordering.

Model not listed? The list above is not exhaustive — LG uses the LT800P across a wide range of build years. The part number on your existing cartridge is the definitive check. If you are unsure, send us your refrigerator model number and we will confirm the correct filter before you buy.

Installation Instructions

  1. Open the filter cover. Look in the upper right area of the fresh food compartment. Lift or swing the cover open to expose the cartridge.
  2. Pull the old cartridge straight out. Horizontally, no twisting. A small amount of water may drip — keep a cloth handy.
  3. Unwrap the new cartridge and remove the protective cap. Check that both black O-rings are seated squarely in their grooves.
  4. Slide the new cartridge in. Line it up with the housing and push straight in until it seats firmly. Do not twist or force it.
  5. Close the cover until it clicks shut.
  6. Flush the line. Run about 3 gallons through the dispenser (roughly 5 minutes). Water may look cloudy or spit air at first — that is trapped air clearing, and it settles.
  7. Dump the first batch of ice. Discard the first full tray produced after installation.
  8. Reset the filter indicator. Press and hold the filter reset button on the control panel until the light clears. The exact button varies by model — check your owner's manual.
Leaking after installation? Nine times out of ten an O-ring has rolled out of its groove. Pull the cartridge, reseat both O-rings, and slide it back in evenly. Do not force it — an over-pushed cartridge seats crooked and leaks.

Replacement Schedule

Condition Action

After 200 gallons Replace — whichever comes first, 6 months or 200 gallons

Water tastes or smells off Replace now — the carbon media is spent
Leaking after a swap Reseat the O-rings before assuming the cartridge is faulty

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know whether my LG takes the LT800P or a different filter?

Read the number printed on the cartridge already in your fridge. LT800P, ADQ73613401, ADQ73613402, ADQ73613408 or ADQ75795104 all mean this listing is correct. The physical fit is also a giveaway: the LT800P slides in horizontally behind a cover in the upper right of the fresh food compartment. If yours twists to lock, or lives in the base grille at the bottom of the fridge, you need a different LG cartridge.

Are LT800P, LT800PC and LT800PCS the same thing?

Yes. The suffixes refer to packaging and colour variations, not different cartridges. All three are the same filter and fit the same refrigerators.

What is the difference between ADQ73613401, ADQ73613402, ADQ73613408 and ADQ75795104?

Nothing that affects fit. These are revision and packaging codes LG has used for the same LT800P cartridge over its production run. Whichever of those numbers is on your old filter, this one replaces it.

Does this fit Kenmore refrigerators?

Yes, where the Kenmore uses filter 46-9490. Kenmore refrigerators built on LG's platform share this cartridge. The number will be printed on the filter itself or inside the filter cover — check for 46-9490, 9490 or 469490.

How many filters come in the pack?

Select your quantity from the pack dropdown above. Single cartridges ship on their own; 2, 3, 4 and 5 packs are available, with bulk discounts applied automatically at 2 units and again at 4.

Why is my water cloudy after fitting a new filter?

Trapped air in the line. It clears within the first few gallons. Run about 3 gallons through the dispenser after installation and discard the first tray of ice — the cloudiness will settle on its own.

Is this a genuine LG-branded cartridge?

This is a replacement cartridge engineered to fit the LT800P housing. Part numbers and brand names are listed for compatibility reference only.

Do I need to turn off the water supply to change it?

No. The housing seals itself when the cartridge is removed. Keep a cloth to hand for the small amount of water that sits in the old cartridge, and change it in under two minutes.
