The LG LT600P is the twist-in replacement water filter fitted to a large range of LG side-by-side, French door and bottom-freezer refrigerators built with the internal LT600P housing, plus the Kenmore models built on the same platform. It is the filter behind part numbers 5231JA2006A, 5231JA2006B and 5231JA2006F, and Kenmore filter number 46-9990.

Inside the cartridge, a compressed activated carbon block reduces chlorine taste and odour so the water and ice coming out of your dispenser taste clean rather than of tap water, while the outer filtration layer traps sediment, rust particles and other grit picked up in household plumbing. The result is clearer water, better-tasting ice, and less sediment finding its way into the dispenser line.

Each cartridge is rated for approximately 300 gallons or 6 months of normal household use, whichever comes first. It fits with a simple quarter-turn twist — no tools, no water shut-off, and no dismantling of the fridge interior. Installation Instructions

Locate the filter: The cartridge sits inside the fresh food compartment — on most LT600P refrigerators it is in the upper right corner near the ceiling, or at the base of the compartment on some bottom-freezer models
Remove the old filter: Turn the old cartridge counter-clockwise about a quarter turn and pull it straight out. A small amount of water will drip from the housing, so have a cloth ready
Prepare the new filter: Take the protective cap off the new cartridge and check the O-rings are seated and undamaged
Fit the new filter: Push the cartridge into the housing and turn it clockwise about a quarter turn until it stops and sits flush
Flush the system: Dispense roughly 2 gallons of water, or run the dispenser for about 5 minutes, to clear trapped air and carbon fines. Cloudy or sputtering water during this stage is normal and clears on its own
Discard the first ice: Throw away the first two or three batches of ice so the ice maker is running on fully flushed water
Reset the indicator: Press and hold the filter reset button on the dispenser panel until the light changes colour or turns off. The button label varies by model — check your owner's manual if it is not marked

Installation tip: A quarter turn is all it takes. If the cartridge resists, do not force it — pull it back out, check the alignment tabs, and re-insert. A correctly seated filter sits flush against the housing with no wobble and no drip.

LG's five filter cartridges are physically different sizes and shapes, so a filter from another series will not seat in an LT600P housing.

Are LT600P, LT600P-B and LT600PC the same filter?

Yes. The suffixes refer to packaging and cosmetic variations, not to different cartridges. All three fit the same housing and are fully interchangeable.
