Description
LG LT600P Refrigerator Water Filter (5231JA2006A / 5231JA2006B)
Product Description
The LG LT600P is LG's popular replacement water filter for select French door, side-by-side, and bottom-freezer refrigerators. Certified by NSF International to standards 42 and 53, this filter delivers clean, fresh-tasting water and ice by reducing chlorine taste and odor, sediment, particulates, and other common contaminants found in tap water.
The LT600P is one of LG's most widely used filter models, balancing filtration capacity with a practical 300-gallon lifespan. It installs with a simple quarter-turn twist — no tools required — and should be replaced every 6 months. Your LG refrigerator's control panel will display a filter replacement indicator when it's time for a new filter.

Installation Instructions
- Locate the Filter: The filter is located inside the refrigerator compartment. In most LG models, it is in the upper right area of the fresh food section or at the bottom of the compartment. Check your owner's manual for the exact location in your model
- Remove Old Filter: Grasp the old filter and rotate it counterclockwise approximately a quarter turn, then pull it straight out. No tools are required
- Prepare New Filter: Remove the protective cap from the new filter cartridge
- Install New Filter: Insert the new filter into the housing and rotate it clockwise approximately a quarter turn until it locks firmly in place
- Flush the System: Run water through the dispenser for approximately 2 gallons (around 5 minutes) to flush air and activate the carbon block. Water may appear slightly cloudy initially — this is normal
- Discard Initial Ice: Discard the first batch of ice produced after installation
- Reset Filter Indicator: Press and hold the filter reset button on your LG refrigerator's control panel until the indicator light changes or resets. Refer to your owner's manual for the specific reset procedure for your model

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if my LG refrigerator uses the LT600P and not another LG filter?
Check the part number printed on your current filter. If it reads LT600P, 5231JA2006A, 5231JA2006B, or 5231JA2006F, this is the correct replacement. LG makes several filter models (LT500P, LT600P, LT700P, LT800P, LT1000P) and they are not interchangeable. Each is designed for specific refrigerator models — always verify before ordering.
Are LT600P, LT600P-B, and LT600PC the same filter?
Yes. LT600P, LT600P-B, and LT600PC are all the same filter. The suffixes indicate minor variations such as color or packaging rather than different products. All three are fully interchangeable and fit the same refrigerator models.
Is the LT600P compatible with Kenmore refrigerators?
Yes. Select Kenmore refrigerators that share LG's manufacturing platform use the LT600P under Kenmore part numbers 46-9990, 9990, and 469990. Check the label on your current Kenmore filter to confirm before ordering.
Where is the LT600P filter located in my refrigerator?
The location varies by model. In most LG refrigerators using the LT600P, the filter is located inside the refrigerator compartment — typically in the upper right area or at the base of the fresh food section. Refer to your owner's manual for the exact location in your specific model.
