The RPWF uses a swing-out installation design — unlike most GE filters, this filter does NOT twist. Simply open the filter door, pull the old filter straight out, and push the new one straight in. No tools and no water shutoff required.

Installation Instructions
- Locate the Filter: Open the left refrigerator door — the filter housing is on the inside door panel
- Open the Filter Door: Pull open the filter compartment door to expose the filter cartridge
- Remove Old Filter: Pull the bottom of the old cartridge outward to swing it out, then pull straight out to unseat it. Do NOT twist. A small amount of water may drip — this is normal
- Install New Filter: Center the new cartridge with the word "FRONT" facing outward. Push straight in until fully seated, then swing the filter door closed
- Flush the System: Run water through the dispenser for approximately 2 gallons (around 5 minutes) to flush air and activate the filter. Initial water may appear slightly cloudy — this is normal
- Discard Initial Ice: Discard the first bin of ice produced after installation
- Reset Filter Indicator: Press and hold the filter reset button on your refrigerator display until the indicator resets
